I snuck out for a quick back 9 on Torrey Pines North this morning. I had not practiced pitch shots nor lag putting since my poor showing a few days ago. I was still plagued by too many short-game shots today, but there was a glimmer of some consistently good play.
Here are the detailed stats.
It’s clear where I need to focus. My goal was 39, I shot 43 with three holes taking 4 shots to get up and down. Although you can see here I missed 3 short putts, I can live with those. I picked a line and speed for these downhill breaking putts and hit it exactly how I wanted to and missed. I’ll take those, but to get to the next level, I need to get my pitches a lot closer to the hole and figure out how to avoid 4 short-game shots on one hole.
